Winter clothes and basic needs
Our social workers assess what the child needs most – clothes, shoes and everyday essentials.

Child sponsorship
DKK 265 a month gives a child food, winter clothes, school support and safety – and you follow the child's life through the year.
Become a child sponsorThe background
The border villages of Armenia have been under fire since Azerbaijan's attack on 13 September 2022. Many families in the area are refugees from Karabakh after the war in 2020, and since the bombardments on 19 September 2023 more than 100,000 refugees have arrived following the displacement of the Christian Armenians in Karabakh.
In their short lives, the children we help have experienced countless horrors and traumas. Through your support of DKK 265 a month you not only help the child towards a better future – you also help the family and the whole local community.

DKK 265 a month

Regular meals bring calm to the body and energy for school and play.
School materials and homework help, so the child can keep up in class.
You follow the child's situation and progress through the year.
Every year you receive a personal greeting from your sponsored child. You are also welcome to write back and forth with the child and the family – it just has to go through us, so we protect the children.
You can visit the child in Armenia and meet the family and the local community.
Personal knowledge
An important part of becoming a child sponsor is that our social workers know the families personally. They know exactly what matters most right now – so you can help with precisely what the family needs the most.
Besides your monthly sponsorship you can give extra donations that go directly to what the child and the family lack. It can be extra clothes, kitchen equipment, food or white goods.
You are very welcome to write to us and ask about the family's most pressing needs. Our social workers then contact the family directly.

Children's centre
Our Armenian partner runs several children's centres in the project area, where refugee children get help to process their traumas and be together with other children. For years the area has been marked by conflict, shootings and bombardments, and many of the children we help carry horrors that no child should see. The great majority have fled from Nagorno Karabakh after the displacement in September 2023.
In the centres, children who have witnessed things no one should witness meet and draw. Play. Talk with a psychologist who knows exactly what war trauma does to a seven-year-old – because we trained her ourselves.
Through our RESET programme, 82 local professionals – psychologists, teachers, doctors and social workers – have learned to work with children who carry war with them. It means the help does not only come from outside, but grows locally and lasts.
