Make a contribution and help the people of Afghanistan
The money is enough for the family to buy food and other basic necessities so Lina is not forced to sell Samira. But the money only lasts for a month.
After the Taliban took power in Afghanistan the infrastructure collapsed. According to the UN Food Program WFP, 3.5 million Afghan children will suffer from acute malnutrition this year, and 130,00 of them will die of starvation! Right now, it’s cold in the country and things are getting worse and worse, and all over the country, families without money are being forced to sell their daughters to older men, who have the money to buy the small girls.
Every day, we receive appeals from families like Samira and we want to help as many families as possible. But we need your support.
How we operate in Afghanistan
We have a wide-ranging network throughout the country that enables us to target aid to the Afghans who are worst off. We transfer money directly to our people in the country. They record that they hand over the money to carefully selected families, ie poor families with little girls in danger of being sold.
Our people videotape every month that they hand over the money and that the girls are still in the families.
Then, they send the videos to Mission10forty!
